This project was part of an introductory assignment for a Masters course I am currently taking at Queen's University. I wanted to highlight the importance of incorporating traditional methods which not only foster a love for literature, but simultaneously engages students to acknowledge and connect with the First Nations community. In particular, I discuss how Storytelling as a strategy can be used to make the transition of passive listeners to engaged learners within the [Ontario] classroom. The story book in focus is "Sugar Falls" a graphic novel based on a true Residential School story.
