PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This is a collaborative project between the New India School in Pune India and Wyevale, Ontario, Canada. The students worked in the collaborative TIG classrooms to meet each other and share their thoughts about climate change in their respective countries. The students planned what they were going to create, based on exemplars of projects. The base of each project would be to create an item that would be run by Microbits.
The students were brought together with the Indian students travelling to Canada for a week student visit. During this visit, the students discussed climate change, experiences a video conference with a museum, participated in experiments that demonstrated climate change and build an object out of waste materials.
Students also incorporated a Microbit, a Micro computers which has 25 red LED lights that can flash messages and be used to create games. The challenge to the students was to create an object made from recycled materials that would be programmed to work using the Microbits!
