PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Best out of waste: Shruti

Save paper, save trees

Objective: To use waste in a creative way.

One man’s waste is another man’s treasure.

India has always been a land of reusing and recycling. Children at a young age are taught to value their resources and belongings. It is normal in households to find different uses for items after their initial use. Today, the 3 Rs are being reinforced in schools in a big way. Here are two examples of schools in India that are making creative use of waste.

Shruti from Jaihind Public School, Udgir, Maharashtra displays the potential to turn ordinary objects into items of beauty and utility, is only limited by our imagination.

Students of Suncity School, Gurgaon, India learnt to find tints, tones, shades of colours from old magazines and newspapers, while also practicing the three Rs.

The result is some amazing paper collages. They also used pet bottles, toilet paper rolls, etc to make utility items.
