Grade 6 students were inspired to create their own global projects. Two groups centered on the global issues of reducing child mortality in Angola and the lack of girls education in India.
Students developed a deeper understanding and empathy towards students and children across the globe. Students compared our Canadian democratic society to different communities where the rights of children have been stripped away.
THEORY TO PRACTICE:
This projects provided students the opportunity to help them see the interconnectedness of our borderless global challenges.
Students explored methods to foster critical thinking and global leadership so that students can feel empowered to address controversial issues.
